MESSAGE FROM THE EDITORS

Welcome to the fourth WSPOS newsletter of 2017. 

We would like to invite you to participate actively at the WSPOS Paediatric Sub-Specialty Day on 6th October, 2017 in Lisbon, Portugal & at the 4th World Congress of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus in Hyderabad, India, from the 1st - 3rd of December, 2017.

 

We are very happy to announce that Uganda, Malawi, Hong Kong, Tunisia & Brazil have joined WSPOS. This newsletter includes the 7th Case of our Global Case Report Quiz as well as the 7th Edition of our Country in Focus series in addition to information on our Past & Upcoming meetings.

 

Further information on these meetings and our activities are available on our website www.wspos.org. We will also be providing regular updates in future newsletters.

NEW CHAPTER & MEMBER SOCIETY ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Association Tunisienne d'orthoptie (ATO), the Hong Kong Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Group & the Sociedade Brasileira De Oftalmologia Pediátrica (SBOP) have also joined WSPOS as Member Societies. GLOBAL CASE REPORT QUIZ

Dr. Susana Gamio from Buenos Aires, Argentina has sent us the seventh case presentation. This is the 3rd in a series of Revista de Estrabismo & Oftalmologia Pediátrica (REOP i.e. the Journal of Strabismus & Paediatric Ophthalmology coordinated by the prestigious Prieto-Diaz Institute of Strabismus in Argentina) & WSPOS collaboration cases.  This case is about a 32-year-old lady who presented with Anomalous Head Posture. We would like our members to select one of the options present at the end of the quiz. Please complete the survey and send it to us no later than 18th of September, 2017.

We will compile the responses we receive and include them along with the opinion of a few experts in our next newsletter.

UPCOMING WSPOS MEETINGS

WSPOS Paediatric Sub-Specialty Day, Lisbon


Our 4th WSPOS Paediatric Sub-Specialty Day takes place on 6th October, 2017. It precedes the XXXV Congress of the ESCRS at Lisbon, Portugal slated to take place from 7 – 11 October, 2017.


Registrations are open for the same. Register by 9th of September, 2017 to avail of the currently available discounted fees. The registration fees increase after the 9th of September, 2017.

WCPOS IV, Hyderabad, India
We are also busy planning for our IV World Congress of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus which is slated to take place in Hyderabad, India, from the 1st - 3rd of December, 2017.


Registrations for WCPOS IV, Hyderabad, India 2017 are open. Register by 31st of August, 2017 to avail of the currently available fees. The registration fees increase from 1st of September, 2017.
