Welcome to the fifth WSPOS newsletter of 2017. 

We would like to invite you to participate actively at the WSPOS Paediatric Sub-Specialty Day on 6th October, 2017 in Lisbon, Portugal & at the 4th World Congress of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus in Hyderabad, India, from the 1st - 3rd of December, 2017.


This newsletter includes the 8th Case of our Global Case Report Quiz in addition to information on our Past & Upcoming meetings.

Dr. Renata Alves from São Paulo, Brazil has sent us the eighth case presentation. This is the 2nd in a series of Strabos Institute & WSPOS collaboration cases & is a case about a 5-month old boy who has an esotropia OD since 2 months. Click here to view the 8th case.

WSPOS Paediatric Sub-Specialty Day, Lisbon

Our 4th WSPOS Paediatric Sub-Specialty Day takes place on 6th October, 2017. It precedes the XXXV Congress of the ESCRS at Lisbon, Portugal slated to take place from 7 – 11 October, 2017.

WCPOS IV, Hyderabad, India

We are also busy planning for our IV World Congress of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus which is slated to take place in Hyderabad, India, from the 1st - 3rd of December, 2017. Registrations for WCPOS IV, Hyderabad, India 2017 are open. Register by 30th of September, 2017 to avail of the currently available fees. Registration fees increase from 1st of October, 2017.

We have an Adult - Paediatric Interface Day on Saturday 2nd December, 2017 & would like to invite Indian Adult / General Ophthalmologists to attend the same.


We would also like to invite Indian Orthoptists & / Optometrists to interact with & learn from International & Indian Orthoptists & / Optometrists of repute at the WCPOS IV Orthoptics Workshop day on Sunday 3rd December, 2017.


Moreover, we have 2 Yoga with the Gurus sessions where our Delegates will have the chance to Experience Yoga for Beginners with a Yoga Guru while simultaneously Learning about Paediatric Ophthalmology with the Experts. Yoga with the Gurus is on a First-Come-First-Served basis.

APSPOS Inaugural Meeting, Hong Kong


In addition to our own meetings, WSPOS has been invited to conduct a 2-hour symposia at the Inaugural Meeting of the Asia- Pacific Strabismus and Paediatric Ophthalmology Society (APSPOS) on the 12th of October, 2017 at Hong Kong. Our symposium is titled ‘Progress through Non-Consensus in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabisimus’.
