GREaT

GREaT

Grants for Research, Education and Training (GREaT) is an initiative developed by the World Society of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.

There are 1.4 million blind children in the world. While attention has been often focused on public health measures and the delivery of care; attention to teaching, training and research for and by LOCAL doctors has been neglected until relatively recently.

The aims of GREaT are:

  1. To provide funds for individuals (who otherwise would not be able to participate) to attend educational meetings ANYWHERE in the world
  2. To contribute funds for eye health care professionals to attend 2-month observational education (observerships) at centres of excellence ANYWHERE in the world
  3. To provide funds where possible for eye health care professionals to attend 6-12 month fellowships at centres of excellence ANYWHERE in the world.
  4. To contribute to the funding of aRc’s

What can you do?

Any contributions you make will be used to help eye health care profession attend educational meetings or to help them pursue observerships & / fellowships. You could also contribute towards development and training of specific global regions. Alternatively, you could also contribute to any specific aRc’s if you so wish.

YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS WILL CHANGE THE LIFE OF A CHILD AND THE PEOPLE AROUND HIM OR HER.
