WSPOS Consensus Statements are Statements on topics that pertain to paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus, constructed by the WSPOS Executive and Scientific Bureau members. All WSPOS’s Member Societies and Chapter Countries are in agreement of these statements.

Downloadable versions of our Consensus Statements are available below.

We would like to thank Essilor, Santen, Hoya, CooperVision and Eyerising for their independent education support this WSPOS consensus statement and the follow-up video series titled, “Implementing the WSPOS Myopia Consensus Statement into Everyday Practice”.

These videos with the WSPOS leadership will be released later this year to assist doctors on how to best utilize these consensus guidelines into their everyday practice.

The Myopia Consensus statement is written by a core writing group (Dr Kianti Darusman – Indonesia, Dr Savleen Kaur- India, Dr Seo Wei Leo- Singapore, Dr Yair Morad-Israel and Dr Ken K Nischal- USA/UK).

The statement is then circulated among all bureau members and at the same time to the IME supporting industry for comments. Content control is strictly by the core writing group . The statement is then sent out to the entire WSPOS membership for comments. These are then considered together from comments from Bureau members and IME supporters.
The final statement is then ratified by the core writing group.
