WCPOS V 2024 ONSITE ANNOUNCEMENT

We are delighted to have you participate in the upcoming 5th World Congress of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (WCPOS V 2024) The congress takes place from 11 to 13 July 2024, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

To ensure a smooth experience for our esteemed attendees, we have put together the following information. A dedicated registration desk will be located at the Centre Core, Level 3, staffed by our team to answer any questions and offer assistance throughout the congress.

Directions for Arrivals in Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)

a) Head to the WCPOS V 2024 Desk in KLIA (next to the Currency Exchange Counter just before the
Immigration Counters) and show our Desk Team this above e-card
b) You will be guided to the Immigration Lane 39 or 40 for Clearance
c) WCPOS V 2024 Desk in KLIA will be available from 8am – 8pm (GMT+8), 9 to 11 July 2024
If you arrive outside of the Desk operating hours, please proceed to Immigration Lane 39 or 40 and
showing the attached e-card* to the Immigration Officer on duty.
Note :

  • Failure to do will result in delegates having to queue at the general immigration clearance lanes.
  • Showing the attached e-card for verification and access to the special immigration lane is MANDATORY.
  • You will be attend on a first-come-first-served basis.
  • Terms and conditions are subject to changes at the discretion of the Immigration Department of Malaysia

GETTING TO THE KUALA LUMPUR CONVENTION CENTRE

Taxi, Ride Shares & e-hailing
Taxis, ride shares & e-hailing will drop passengers off directly at the entrance of the KLCC. Popular
options include Grab. Depending on traffic conditions, travel time from may vary during peak & nonpeak hours.

LRT
Visitors can conveniently take the LRT to the KLCC LRT stop. Upon disembarking, follow the directional
signage that leads you through the Suria KLCC Shopping Mall. A pedestrian tunnel conveniently connects
the mall & Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).

Car
The KLCC offers on-site parking with the entrance located next to the Traders Hotel.
Here's a breakdown of the parking rates:
- First hour (or part thereof): RM5.00
- Each subsequent hour (or part thereof): RM4.00
- Daily Maximum (5pm-5am): RM17.00

REGISTRATION AND HELP DESK

The WCPOS V 2024 Registration and Help Desk is located the Centre Core, Level 3, KL Convention Centre
with the following opening hours:

10 July 2024 (Wednesday): 1300 – 1800 hours
11 July 2024 (Thursday): 0630 – 1800 hours
12 July 2024 (Friday): 0630 – 1800 hours
13 July 2024 (Saturday): 0630 – 1500 hours

To ensure a quick and easy entry process, please have your registration confirmation email ready upon
arrival at the registration counter. Our staff will be happy to assist you in obtaining your badge, granting
access to the venue.

ON-SITE PAYMENT

For your convenience, the Registration Desk accepts on-site payments during opening hours. Please
note:
- We accept cash and credit cards in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) only.
- Cheques are not accepted as a form of payment.

NAME BADGES

Don't forget to pick up your name badge at the Registration Desk upon arrival! Your badge grants you access to all the exciting events throughout the congress, including:

  • Scientific Sessions: Immerse yourself in valuable knowledge exchange during the scientific sessions.
  • Exhibition Hall: Explore the latest advancements and network with industry professionals at the exhibition hall.
  • Opening & Closing Ceremonies: Be a part of the official congress kick-off and closing events. Important Information about your Name Badge
  • Your Official Pass: Your name badge serves as your official pass for the congress. Please wear it visibly at all times while on-site.
  • Non-transferable: Sharing badges is strictly prohibited.
  • Lost Badge? If you lose your badge, a replacement can be obtained at the Registration Desk for a MYR250 administrative fee. Accompanying Person Access Accompanying persons registered with a delegate will receive a separate badge. However, please note that their access is limited to:
  • Gala Dinner: Accompanying persons can only attend the Gala Dinner happening on July 12th, 2024. Gala Dinner - Important Information Please note that the Gala Dinner on Friday, July 12th, 2024, is a ticketed event. Admission Fee is MYR250 and tickets are available at the registration counter.

Ticket Purchase:

  • Delegates interested in attending the Gala Dinner will need to purchase tickets separately. Beverage Service:
  • The cost of alcoholic beverages consumed during the Gala Dinner is not included and will be borne by the attendees. We accept cash and credit cards in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) only.

DRESS CODE

Business casual attire is recommended for attendance at all congress sessions and social functions.

ACCESS THE CONGRESS E-PROGRAM BOOK & ABSTRACTS LISTING

  • Digital Resources Available: Starting July 10th, the WCPOS V 2024 website will offer access to both the electronic program book and the final list of abstracts for your reference.

  • Printed Program Book: A physical copy of the program book will also be provided upon registration at the venue for your convenience.

SPEAKER READY ROOM

Attention Speakers: Ensure a Smooth Presentation To guarantee a flawless presentation experience, all speakers are required to check in at the designated Speaker Ready Room 2 hours before your scheduled presentation time. What to Do at the Speaker Ready Room:

1. Check-In: Simply let our friendly staff know you've arrived.

2. Upload Your Presentation: Upload your PowerPoint slides onto the computers provided in the room. These computers mirror the exact configuration of those in the session rooms, minimizing compatibility issues.

3. Get Help: Our technical staff is readily available to assist with any last-minute adjustments or formatting concerns (if any)

4. The Speaker Ready Room is located at Suite 5, Club Suites, Level 3, KL Convention Centre.

By following these steps, you can ensure a confident and successful presentation at WCPOS V 2024!

CERTIFICATES OF ATTENDANCE

When the congress concludes you will be sent an email to fill out a short survey. When you complete this survey your cert will be sent to you via your email.

CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD) ACCREDITATION IN MALAYSIA

Malaysian Medical Association (MMA)*
The WCPOS V Congress has been granted 20 CPD credits.
Malaysian delegates are required to open their MMA Scanner App for the Registration Team to scan and mark your attendance via the App, which will only be available 12 pm onwards on 13 July 2024, at the Registration Counter, Level 3.

* MMA members are required to download the MMA Event/CPD app onto their mobile phone

* MMA Members should log in using the same email and password used for the MMA website.

Academy of Medicine of Malaysia (AMM)
The WCPOS V Congress has been granted 20 points. The Event ID: 29011 has been listed in the Medical Specialist CPD System.

Malaysian Optical Council
The WCPOS V Congress has been granted 20 points. The optometrists are to submit their claim for CPD
points under the category Unlisted Program and are required to attach their Certificate of Attendance.
