WSPOS Visit to HONDURAS

WSPOS Visits the Honduran local ophthalmology residency program.

WSPOS recently visited the local residency program of the Honduran ophthalmology community. The collaborative symposium held over February 16 to 18 showcased four intensive sessions where knowledge was generously exchanged among visitors, residents, and attending physicians.

Dr. Nischal and Dr. Pihlblad, representing WSPOS, delivered insightful lectures covering critical topics such as strabismus, pediatric cataract and glaucoma, and retinopathy of prematurity.

Their expertise extended to live patient evaluations, enriching our understanding of diagnosis, treatment, and surgical techniques. The visit fostered not only professional growth but also a sense of camaraderie, with shared experiences beyond the lecture hall.

The connections formed promise to strengthen our community and elevate patient care standards. We eagerly anticipate implementing the shared best practices, ensuring the highest quality care for our young patients. This collaborative effort marks the beginning of an enduring partnership aimed at advancing eye health across Honduras.
On behalf of the entire Honduran ophthalmology community, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude for the recent visit of these recognized Pediatric Ophthalmologists to our Honduran local ophthalmology residency program where knowledge was shared amongst visitors, residents, and other local attending physicians.
