Abstract submissions are now open!
- Abstract Submission Opens: Wednesday, 19th March 2025
- Abstract Submission Deadline: Sunday, 4th May 2025

Abstract submission guidelines
- Submissions for Free Papers, E-Posters and Videos will be accepted for the WSPOS 2025 Subspecialty Day Programme.
- You must disclose whether you or any of your co-authors have any financial interest in the subject matter of the presentations. Abstracts submitted without this information will not be considered.
- All abstracts MUST be submitted in the presenting author’s name.
- All abstracts must be submitted in English via the online abstract submission system only. Submissions by email or any other means will NOT be accepted.
- A maximum of 2 abstract submissions per person per category is allowed (max of 2 Free Papers, 2 E-Posters, 2 Videos).
- All submitted abstracts will be reviewed and either accepted or rejected by the Abstract Selection Committee. The committee reserves the right to determine whether a submission will be accepted as a Free Paper or an E-Poster or a Video. The decision of the committee is final & irrevocable.
- If an abstract is accepted as a E-Poster or a Video, the E-Poster or Video will be displayed via Kiosk(s) & will be available for delegates to view at their convenience. However, should an abstract be accepted as a Free paper, it will need to be presented in a session during the subspecialty day programme.
- Once an abstract has been accepted, the participant must complete his / her register in the usual manner. Failing to do so, will result in cancellation of the submission.
- If a paper or poster or video is accepted for presentation, the first author must undertake to present it. The presenter must be a registered delegate at the WSPOS 2025 Subspecialty Day Programme and must pay all the applicable fees. Please note that failure to present without prior notice may influence future acceptance of presentations.
- All accepted abstracts selected will be posted online at www.wspos.org. The abstract will appear exactly as submitted.
- It is the author’s responsibility to submit an abstract with correct spellings and grammar. However, the Abstract Selection Committee reserves the right to edit the abstract if it has significant spelling and / grammatical errors.
- You must ensure that you indicate the type of abstract you are submitting (Free Paper / E-Poster / Video).
- The summary of results presented must be given in sufficient detail to support the conclusions.
- The Abstract Selection Committee will only accept abstracts with final results or conclusions.
- References and credits cannot be included as part of an abstract.
- Formulae should, in general, be avoided.
- When using abbreviations or acronyms for the first time, care should be taken to spell them out in full, with the abbreviation in parentheses after the full word(s) the first time it appears in the text. The abbreviation alone should be used thereafter.
